NEW DESIGN BARMAC VSI IMPROVES CRUSHING PERFORMANCE
Improved performance from Metso Minerals latest Barmac Vertical Shaft Impact (VSI) crusher offers an increased competitive edge for aggregate producers.
Metso Minerals has developed a new Barmac Vertical Shaft Impact (VSI) crusher aimed at aggregate producers who are looking for a competitive edge.
The Barmac B7150SE incorporates all the proven features of the standard range and adds a number of new ones to provide even better performance, reliability and serviceability.
Suitable for processing almost any competent, abrasive, friable or sticky material, the single drive crushing and grinding unit has a maximum throughput capacity of 260-490 tph (287-540 stph) for general crushing duties. Maximum feed size is 66mm (2.75 inches).

Revised geometry in the crushing chamber has improved crushing performance and the retention of build-up. As a result the crusher body is less likely to be damaged by material falling from the chamber.
A re-designed, more durable mechanism for the chamber inspection door makes it easier to access the rotor for inspecting wear parts.
The is now a standard option that can be retrofitted at a later date. Operated by one person, it provides quick and easy access for rapid replacement of the rotor and wear parts.
When used in conjunction with a Barmac Service Boom, the roof lifter allows for the removal and replacement of rotors without a crane or other lifting equipment.
Service technicians can access the rotors in less than two minutes after the machine stops running, ensuring maintenance downtime and costs are kept to a minimum.
Improvements to the feed hopper components further enhance the performance of the Barmac’s unique cascade feed system, which introduces a second stream of material into the crushing chamber. In combination with other variables such as rotor diameter, speed and crushing chamber profile, the cascade system enhances power efficiency, reduces wear and provides an efficient means of controlling the grinding and crushing action to either maximise or minimise fines and product shape.
Cable ducting facilities are incorporated into the crusher body of the Barmac B7150SE to facilitate the wiring of the
(VOCS) crusher protection and monitoring system. The VOCS provides the operator with constantly updated information on the operating condition of vital mechanical components. VOCS is a standard option.
A more robust motor mount and transmission structure allows the B7150SE to support motors rated up to 300kW (400hp). This enables the use of high voltage equipment and higher power, low voltage equipment, without sacrificing drive design or V-belt life.
For particularly tough applications a new-style laminated rotor tip option is available. Laminated tips use the properties of different tungsten grades to increase impact and abrasion resistance. Tips can be tailored to suit various applications.
Since its introduction the Barmac VSI range has proven itself as producer of top quality aggregate products for asphalt paving, concrete aggregates and specification sand. It is ideally suited to crushing a wide range of metallic ores, aggregates or industrial minerals.
The high velocity impact crushing improves soundness and shape of stone, reduces product moisture and eases the screening task while producing superior products at a minimum cost.
